WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?
My story begins when, I woke up one morning with excruciating abdominal pain and ended up in the hospital last summer with a case of Epiploic appendagitis (EA) (sorry you will have to Google it, the description is way to long for ad here)… that diagnosis scared the (you know what) out of me… I was pretty overweight 260lbs and I am only 5’8” tall. I have had high blood pressure since I can remember. But what really concerned me was something I already knew and my doctor brought to my attention was… I am the oldest living male in my family… all the males in my family passed away before the age of 55… most from some kind of heart condition… I am 51… so I figured I better make some changes if I want to spend some more time on this earth with my family and friends… I have a lot of things I still want to do in this lifetime.
So I started this website to not only support me in making a positive change in my own life… but also to help support others make a positive change in theirs. The Low Carb & Ketogenic diets are very popular, researched and proven diets. When done in the right way It actually forces your body to burn off unwanted and unnecessary harmful fat. I have not yet reached my weight loss goal but I have lost 35 pounds in the last 7 weeks… down to 225 as of today… By the way my name is Terry
(unfortunately I did not take a picture when I first started when I was at 260… maybe I didn’t think I could do it in the beginning… lol)
SO WHY WOULD I WANT TO HELP YOU?
When I started my weight loss journey I wasn’t to sure of what I was doing but I had hope because I was reading success stories of regular people who were having some great results with low carb and the keto diet.
The problem I had wasn’t losing the weight because the diet truly works… the problem was… what to cook and eat every day. I know that I needed 60-75% of calories from fat (or even more), 15-30% of calories from protein, and. 5-10% of calories from carbs… okay no problem.
So I looked into finding information specifically for the keto diet and low carb diets. There are hundreds I mean thousands of low carb keto websites, books and videos out there. A lot of them are very good and some are kinda bad… you know, low quality.
No, I have not looked at all the recipes, videos etc… in every piece of content that I recommend on the website… but I do look for honest reviews and positive comments and make a decision whether to post the content on our site. I only post a cookbook, recipe, video or article if I truly think it will be of benefit to the reader.
So, I hope you enjoy the everything on this site and you so can proceed with confidence knowing that it was pre checked for you. Of course, you must make the final decision for yourself to see what you think is best for you.
